The growth number shows the potential nutrient grown per day within the penned area, not what is currently available. So to temporarily solve your problem while waiting for the grass to grow, let the animals out to eat grass outside, then rope them back in.Nothing can grow in winter so you'll need to have another way of feeding them. I like to build a green house. Right now I have a building with enough space for 2 sunlamps to cover.
