Hi everyone! I just bought 2011 Camry 2.5 6auto with 57k miles on it. The car make a rattle noise for a second or so on a cold start when sets overnight. I took it to the dealer yesterday and they replaced the timing gear assembly under warranty. This morning when I started the car in the morning it made the same rattle noise.When you reverse, it goes the other way, so what you are hearing is the brake pad reversing its "load direction". There is a tiny bit of gap between the brake pad and the caliper mounting bracket in which the pads sit, and this is the play that allows the popping you are hearing.That should be the parking brake. By default a lot of Toyota models have it engage automatically when you shift to P. If you have a parking brake switch/pull it might have a red LED that lights up depending on your car, and the dash of the Rav should have a bred brake icon as well. 6.
