This has happened about 5 times over the last 3 years. The good news is I’m getting pretty good at changing it, bad news is it’s not fixing the problem.But if your engine is considerably cold or operating hotter than normal, the viscosity-changing chemistry in the multigrade oil may fall short of doing the job, and your oil pressure will fluctuate as a result. 5. Bad Oil Filter. Most engine manufacturers include an anti-drain back valve in the engine’s oil filters.Here's the symptom list: -When RPM's drop below 1k, Oil Gauge drops to 0 and lights come on. -When RPM's go back above 1k, everything goes back to normal. -Only occurs when coolant temp has reached around 210. -At first only occurred on occasion. -Over time, occurred every time I drove.Temp fluctuates. Check and tighten your battery cables first. Some of the battery voltage fluctuation might be normal. Check your owners manual about the special feature your truck has that was designed to increase battery life.
